Marseille was the prisoner in Slahi’s next cell. They developed a blind friendship during their time, speaking French to each other across the fence.

my
call-back

I
was
offered
to
play
two
parts:
both
the
FBI
translator
and
the
French
cellmate
from
the
other
side
of
the
fence.
This
was
the
most
challenging
shoot
with
languages,
having
to
switch
from
French
with
a
Marseille
accent
to
Moroccan
Arabic
to
American
English
all
within
the
course
of
2
weeks!”
